Attendance Policy

Attendance is a crucial element to our success in the workplace.

We develop relationships with others and learn how to connect and work as part of a team. This is also important in establishing all the skills employers look for in their potential employees. All students are expected to be on site each day to begin Advisory at 8.55 am. If you are running late, please call the office to advise staff of your expected arrival time. Students will be required to maintain a 90% attendance rate to maximise their learning outcomes and opportunities.

Any student who is absent will need to provide a note from home, or a doctor's certificate to explain the absence if it is more than three days. Please keep in touch with your advisor regarding attendance, so we can help support you and your learning. The best news is that the learning plan is completely transportable, so you can keep up with your learning even if you can't make it to the Campus. Your advisor needs to be in the loop so that they can best understand your needs.

Learning through internship (LTI's). The day for internships will be a Tuesday. This is a regular day for attendance. Times will change depending on the employer and the negotiated hours with the student. Students will not work beyond regular working hours for the business/workplace. All students will be required to investigate and initiate their internship placements in consultation with our LTI Coordinator.

Please contact Beth Lumb (LTI Coordinator) if you have any queries about the process and program. Mentors from the community are also welcome to express their interest in being a part of the learning journey for our students.
