On Thursday 5 August the NSW Premier announced that Cessnock, Dungog, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Muswellbrook, Newcastle, Port Stephens and Singleton local government areas (LGAs) have had community transmission of COVID-19 and stay-at-home restrictions would be introduced from 5pm Thursday 5 August 2021 until 12.01am Friday 13 August. Return to school plans for Friday 13 August will be confirmed next week, based on updated advice if the current restrictions are lifted.
As our school is located in one of these LGAs, from Friday 6 August to Thursday 12 August, there will be minimal supervision on the Parkway Avenue site of our school for those students who cannot be educated at home, for example if their parent or carer is an essential worker. The Cooks Hill Campus (CHC) site will not be open for minimal supervision, with any CHC students needing to attend school during this time being asked to present at our Parkway Avenue site.
All students and families will be supported with Learning from Home, through Canvas and Zoom. Each Advisor will contact students via DOE email to establish protocols.
If you are working from home, and your child is able to be educated from home, please keep them at home.
